The Economic Development function in Stockton works towards attracting new businesses to our city and assisting businesses to be successful. Our mission is to promote Stockton as the place to do business.

This service is available free-of-charge to project developers and business owners anticipating development in Stockton. At request, Economic Development staff will coordinate a meeting with senior staff of permitting departments aimed at providing valuable input prior to applying for a building permit. 8) One-Stop Permit Center
The City's Permit Center was created to streamline the development process by locating all the departments needed to obtain permits in one building. The Building and Planning divisions, Public Works and Municipal Utilities Departments all have representatives available at the Permit Center to assist the public.
