The Process

Operational Fire Permits

  1. Contact the Fire Prevention Division.
  2. Receipt of a Business license would result in an inspection.
  3. A Fire Prevention Division inspector will inspect the premises to determine fire permit requirements, if any. 
  4. The customer will be notified via e-mailed inspection report of necessary fire permits and applicable fees.
  5. The customer will be directed to submit an operational fire permit application to return to the Fire Prevention Office. Customer to be invoiced the following month for inspection services/permit(s) required by the inspector, per City of Stockton published Fee Schedule. 

Note: The operational fire permit shall not be applied for until all fire safety corrections are complete.

 

 Plan Review

  1. Contact the Fire Prevention Division.
  2. Submit plans via e-mail attachment or by a secure link to sfd-plansubmittal@stocktonca.gov
  3. Customer will be notified by the plan checker if additional items are needed. Once complete information is received, plan checker will notify customer of applicable fees.
  4. After fees are paid by the customer, two sets of the reviewed and/or approved plans will be given back to the customer. One set will be retained by the Fire Prevention Division.

Note: Following construction, a final inspection will be required.
