GO-Biz

The Governor's Economic Development Initiative (GEDI) was established under the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz).

GEDI offers three incentive programs to help business locate or expand in California:

California Competes: Provides income tax credits to businesses that want to locate or expand in California. Tax credits are negotiated by GO-BIZ and approved by newly created California Competes Tax Credit Committee.
Manufacturing Equipment Sales & Use Tax Exemption: Sales tax exemption which eliminates California portion of sales tax (4.19%) at time of purchase program. Administered by the California Board of Equalization.
New Employment Credit: Tax Credit on a new employees wages above $13.50 an hour and up to $28 an hour. Administered by California Franchise Tax Board.
