The City of Stockton will be replacing about 0.5 mile of existing sewer trunk line along Pershing Avenue between Venetian Drive and Swain Road. As part of the improvements, traffic control and temporary sewer bypass pumping will be required.
Construction is anticipated to begin August 2020 and expected to be completed by the end of July 2021.
The project includes replacing 794-feet of existing 18-inch and 1,560-feet of existing 30-inch sewer trunk line. The methods being used to repair the sewer line require no digging of the sewer trunk line. A small segment will require trenching in the street and digging for a few days.
Work will take place between 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays. Due to the size and length of the pipe, boilers and pumps will be required and will generate some engine noise; this phase of the project will continue round-the-clock, 24-hours a day, to provide power and help speed up installation of the new pipe liner.
This project is funded through the Wastewater Utility Fund.
