Fire Prevention Code

Regulations

The Fire Prevention Division interprets, applies, and enforces the Stockton Municipal Code, California Fire Code, and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Codes and Standards. Links to copies of these Codes are provided under External Links below.

Code Amendments

Both, the California Building Code and the California Fire Code were amended by local City of Stockton Ordinances.  While the Stockton Fire Department contracts for services in San Joaquin County, these City of Stockton code amendment ordinances only apply to projects constructed in the City.

Automatic Fire Sprinkler Ordinance amendment information can be found in section 15.08.08 of the Stockton Municipal Code.
