Map of the VA medical clinic construction areaThe City of Stockton Municipal Utilities Department (MUD) is making off-site improvements to extend water and sewer utilities to the future site for the Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Clinic at 6505 South Manthey Road in French Camp. the project improvements will include:

 

Sanitary Sewer

  • The pipeline will extend from the current southern terminus at the intersection of French Camp Road and Wolfe Road to near Yettner Road on Wolfe Road.

Water

  • The pipeline will extend from the Weston Ranch Reservoir to Yettner Road, along Manthey Road to the VA facility, and will connect on Wolfe Road.

 

Project Background

The United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is constructing a new Medical Campus on property located at 6505 Manthey Road, which is located outside the city limits in French Camp, an unincorporated area of San Joaquin County. The City supported the development of the project and the benefits to be provided to Veterans throughout the region.

 

Construction Timeline

Construction of the VA Medical Clinic was initiated on March 29, 2021, and completed in November 2021. 

  • South Wolfe Road was closed for construction on May 3, 2021, and reopened on November 8, 2021.
  • Manthey Road was closed between June 7 and September 20, 2021, to install water and sewer pipes, and to repave and finish striping the roadway.

A Virtual Open House was held on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to provide information to the community about the City of Stockton water and sewer utility connection extension project for the Veterans Affairs Medical Clinic.
