Public Art

The Public Art Advisory Committee (PAAC) is a standing subcommittee of the Stockton Arts Commission. The PAAC is responsible for administering the City's Public Art Program.

Their work includes:

  • developing a public art plan for the City, and
  • reviewing and recommending designs, artists, and public art projects for the enjoyment and appreciation of Stockton residents.

Oak Park Senior Center Mural Design

The Stockton Arts Commission is seeking community feedback to help with a mural design at Oak Park Senior Center, 730 E. Fulton Street. This community outreach meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 4:30 p.m. at the Oak Park Senior Center in the activity room. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the project and provide input that can help shape the mural design.

Community ideas were used to inspire the design at its current stage, which depicts a window into the history of Stockton and Oak Park. Historical references in the current mural design include the original Oak Park marquee, a trolley, and Captain Weber the founder of the City.

Victory Park Public Art Project

The final round of this project is designed to receive feedback from the community. Community members are encouraged to participate by watching a video that shares information about the finalists and their proposed projects, then voting for their favorite art piece.
