Development Fee Tools:

Permit Fee Estimator

Municipal Utilities Department Calculator

An online Permit Fee Estimator has been provided to assist in estimating Building Permit Fees.

Instructions for online Permit Fee Estimator:

1. Select Commercial or Residential Estimator
2. Read and Acknowledge Disclaimer
3. Click on "Accept & Continue"
4. Enter the project street address
5. Select the "Work Type" for the scope of work being done
6. Enter the valuation
7. Click the "Calculate" button.

Shortly, a new page will appear with your estimate.

Estimate provided is a preliminary estimate only, based on information provided. Actual permit costs are calculated and verified through the plan review process and may vary from that provided by the online permit fee estimator as indicated by the disclaimer and acknowledged by the user.

The fee amounts shown are typical fees related to a building permit and are estimates only. The estimate may also include development fees, which are required on certain types of projects. "Development Fees", also known as "Public Facilities Fees" are based on criteria other than building valuation. Final fees for your project will be determined during the formal plan check process. There may be other fees not reflected by the estimator which may apply to specific types of projects, which would be identified during the review process. Please note that the estimator may not reflect the latest fee changes.

The estimator does not currently estimate Public Facilities Fees, Fire Prevention Review, Sewer and Water Connection, Area of Benefit Fee/Community Facilities District N. 90-1 Assessment, School, Habitat/Open Space Conservation Fees and other fees that may be due for all work types such as "New Building - Complete Improvement". (Additional information on these topics.)

A plan check fee deposit is due at the time plans are submitted for plan check. The deposit is equal to the estimated plan check fee, rounded down to the nearest whole number. If plans are to be checked by an approved outside plan checking firm, the plan check deposit due at permit application will be 35% of the Plan Check Fee provided by the online fee estimator.

Some projects may require land use permit(s), fire permit(s) and public works permit(s) that will result in additional applications, approvals, and fees for your project. Please contact the respective agencies for further information.
